The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum shared by leali

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was the best book I've ever read. It was like a modernized fairy tale. When I was young, I only knew that there was Dorothy, a tin man, and a witch. However, when I was reading this book, there was much more than that. Dorothy ends up in a different world with her house and her dog, Toto, and coincidentally kills the Wicked Witch of the East. The kind Witch of the North gives Dorothy the Wicked Witch's silver shoes. She kisses her on the forehead, which leaves a mark, so that in her journey to Emerald City, no beings would hurt her. Dorothy travels to Emerald City, where the great wizard named Oz lives because she would like to go back to Kansas. As she journeys, she meets with three friends: the Scarecrow, who wants a brain, the tin man, who wants a heart, and the cowardly lion, who wants courage. In their journey, they begin to know the importance of teamwork and friendship as they save and help each other.
