White Fang started off with a time when White Fang wasn't even born yet.Two men are on a sled on the way to a fort, when they discover that the wolves are killing their sled dogs. One of them, One Eye, was taken by a she-wolf (as referred to in the book). After they mated, five tiny cubs were born. Since the she-wolf settled near a cave, food was hard to find. However, since One Eye and the she-wolf had lots of experience on hunting, they were able to survive. Four cubs died, and the last cub survived with great fierceness inherited both from his dog father and his wolf mother. After the she-wolf fought a lynx, she was greatly injured and together, with the cub, traveled to the end of a lake. They met some Indians and they started to keep them in their hands. White Fang began to be feared by everyone and loved by no one. One day, the bully Beauty Smith bought him from his Indian master. White Fang became a vicious killer that fought for money. Will White Fang ever know the true meaning of love or will he die as a deadly killer?
