Hollis Woods was a baby when she was left by her mother and for 12 years she had been transferred from one foster home to another. To the social agency, she is a mountain of trouble because she skipped school and ran away. She finally got a family, the Regans, a family willing to give her a real home, she ran away. She got put with Josie an old artist who is losing her memory, Hollis begins to feel needed and doesn't ever want to leave Josie, an old woman who knows a lot about friendship and love. Fearful that the social agency will separate them, Hollis planned an escape. This time she took Josie with her and returns to Branches, the summer home that belongs to the Regans. All along, Hollis wanted for her life with the Regans, and recorded every special moment with them in a gallery of pictures.
This book was amazing and sweet because a girl fought for what she wanted.
