The book I read was Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. This book is a letter Stargirl is writing to Leo, who she still loves. She explains all her fun and bizarre events in Pennsylvania, where she moved. She meets Dootsie, a five-year-old who calls herself a "human bean", Betty Lou, who is afraid of going outside, Charlie, who sits in the cemetary with his now dead Grace, Alvina, a tomboy with one gliterry pink nail, and Perry, whom Stargirl seems to be falling for. She has fun and whacky adventures with them, but she dearly misses Leo. She asks herself, "What's life without Leo?" She also sends him a telepathic and important question: Will we ever meet again? Then her old Arizona friend came with a note from Leo thats said, "Yes." That was all she needed to be happy.
