The Princess Diaries is a really funny story of a girl's life with many twists and turns. Mia Thermopolis is a ninth-grader, known as a "freak" by most people in her school. She's struggling through high school, and flunking algebra. Then, crazy things happen. Her mom starts dating her algebra teacher, and her grandma suddenly shows up and tells Mia that she is a princess. Mia is overwhelmed and unhappy by everything. If people in her school find out that her mom is dating the algebra teacher, or Mia is a princess, she'll be busted and be known as a even bigger freak. Mia struggles to juggle school, princess lessons which she hates, and keeping everything a secret. Someone leaks to the press that Mia is a princess, and Mia is horrified. But being a princess actually isn't that bad. Mia soon learns that being a princess is pretty awesome. Aside from the princess lessons, she had alot of things she never had before, such as a bodyguard, a driver, money, popularity, and a lot of attention.
