The Circuit by Fransisco Jimenez shared by bumoh

The story The Circuit by Fransisco Jimenez was about a migrant family of ten who constantly struggled in their attempt of making a living. They illegally crossed the border from Mexico to California when their family consisted of only Panchito, Roberto, and their parents. They started of staying at Santa Maria where they had a job picking cotton. Panchito also went to school there but his biggest obstacle was learning English. From Santa Maria, they moved to Corcoran also to pick cotton but since it was raining, they went to Orosoi to pick grapes for Mr. Patrini. They got a nice home there. The family later moved back to Santa Maria where they could pick cotton, Panchito could go to school, and Roberto could be a janitor. They were settling well in Santa Maria but a short time after the moved back, the Border Patrol caught Panchito and eventually the rest of his family for illegally crossing the border.
