FLIPPED By: WENDELIN VAN DRAANEN shared by lemeg

Flipped is a really short but sweet book. It's like a funny love story. Juli Baker had a crush on her neighbor Bryce Loski since she was 7, when Bryce moved onto her street. Bryce was scared of Juli. She was annoying, and he avoided her at all costs. Weird Juli loved ugly sycamore trees, and raised chickens in her backyard. In eighth grade, when people were going to cut down Juli's favorite sycamore tree, Juli would not get out of the tree. She stayed there and begged Bryce to come up with her. She thought if more people came up the sycamore tree, they wouldn't cut it down. Bryce just ignored her. Juli's chickens laid many eggs. Every week since 6th grade, Juli would give a dozen eggs to Bryce's family. Bryce's family was scared that the eggs were unhealthy because the Baker's backyard, where they raise the chickens, was dirty. So Bryce threw the eggs away every time. In eighth grade, Julie caught Bryce throwing away her eggs, and was very hurt. Then everything changed. Juli started to think Bryce was a jerk, since he avoided her, made fun of her, and didn't care about her feelings. Bryce started to think that Juli Baker was pretty cool since she stayed up in that tree, and raised chickens by herself. When Juli stopped caring about Bryce, Bryce realized what a jerk he's been to Juli, and started "seeing" people for their true selves.
