This book is very unique and is an interesting read, because Stargirl is different from most people. She doesn't fit in with everyone else. In her old town, 16-year-old Stargirl was lonely and rejected and sad because no one liked her. She decided to move to Pennsylvania for a new start in life. In Pennsylvania, Stargirl befriended a5 year old girl, Dootsie, and her neighbor, Betty Lou. Betty Lou is actually really nice, but is known as a witch because she never comes out of her house. Betty Lou is scared of everything outside.When winter came, Stargirl decided she wanted to have a Winter Solstice party. She invited everyone she met in her new town to her party. Days before the party, Stargirl feared that no one would come to her party, and everything would be the same as it was back in her old town. On the day of the party, everyone she invited showed up, and even Betty Lou too. Everyone enjoyed the magic of winter together. Stargirl felt very happy and not alone.
