Code Orange by Caroline Cooney shared by tasog

The book Code Orange is about a carefree guy named Mitty Blake. He is in high school, but unlike many other people his age, he doesn’t care about grades, school, or anything else. Mitty might not be the best student, but at least he never missed a day of school. He adores music. For example, in class instead of taking notes he scuttles his earphones up his sleeves and listens to music. One day during class his teacher was talking about a bio report that the class had been working on for four weeks. Ye told the class that ten pages of notes were to be received by Monday. Meanwhile, the Blake’s would go to their country house. Mrs. Blake has a huge hoard of old medical books at the country house. Luckily, Mitty can find all the information he needs. Once they arrive he goes and gazes for books on infectious diseases. After awhile, he found four books on Smallpox. In one of the books there was an envelope containing Smallpox scabs, but Mitty didn’t know, so he touched them, smelled them, and rubbed his eyes. After reading the page he found the envelope on, ye realized they were smallpox scabs. On Sunday they returned home. Mitty started to think he was going to get Smallpox, so he posted an e-mail asking everyone if it is possible to get infected. This e-mail was free for anyone to see, even terrorists. One week later, ye were just striding in the streets when a foreign lady stopped him. When Mitty woke up, he was duck taped to a cement ground, (he had gotten captured by terrorists). They eventually, took him and heaved him in a room with no way out. A week later, he tricked them by putting coal on his body to make pustules. Unfortunately, he had to be in the hospital due to the bio terrorists. In my opinion, I think Mitty should have been more cautious of what he puts on the internet. I feel a lot safer that now that Smallpox doesn’t exist anymore.
